Workshop: Botanical Prints

Description

The idea of this workshop is to use the Public Garden of Évora city as a source of inspiration so that the participants can produce their works in serigraphy. Through the combination of a guided visit through the garden, in which various characteristics of different trees and shrubs will be mentioned, it is intended to see this workshop as a space for experimentation. By doing this, it will allow knowing the behaviour of materials and experience aesthetic sensations that only the material/technique itself will enable.
In this way, the integrated exploration of aesthetic and technical problems will contribute to the development of skills for expression, creation, and enjoyment. Viktor Lowenfeld and W. Lambert Brittain in their work Desarrollo de la Capacidad Creadora (Editorial Kapelusz; Buenos Aires, 1983), refer “there is no artistic expression possible without self-identification with the revealing experience, as well as the artistic material used for that purpose”.
This course will provide trainees with the possibility of making a methodological “trip” through their own creative thinking, graphic recording and systematization/adaptation to the technique that will be used (Serigraphy).
