Introduction to Academic Research Project

Description

This Introduction Course is organized in nine modules, with the aim to introduce academic research as a complex project, made by to the following aspects:
– Research and the Research Problem
– Literature Review: information and how to deal with it
– Types of research
– Argument
– Research Design
– Research Method
– Research Ethics
– Research Proposal
– Academic Writing

Fundamental pedagogical techniques are foreseen for each module, namely transmissive work (exhibition of information in multimedia support), independent individual work (reading, analysis and treatment of information) and group work (discussion and analysis of texts).

The Course aims to:
– Improve skills in the development of a Research Plan
– Improve information organization strategies
– Clarify the appropriate written expression in research work
– Promote research practices that respect academic ethics
– Promote the use of the methods learned during the course in dissertations and theses, or in scientific articles, in the thematic area of the Arts. University professors use the methods in published.
